In a period of unprecedented layoffs and job insecurity, a wealth of opportunities still exists for those ready to venture into the world of franchising. Let me share a personal story to illustrate this.

Back in the early 2000s, after a successful stint as a Central Nervous System consultant in a renowned pharmaceutical company, I realized that the corporate world was not for me. I yearned for more income, autonomy, and flexibility. I craved the freedom to do what I wanted when I wanted.

I took the plunge into entrepreneurship, starting an investment company focused initially on real estate ‘flipping’. Yet, as the opportunities in this field started to dwindle, I diversified into residential real estate and mortgage, founding my boutique retail brokerage firm. I enjoyed a period of immense success, but a looming market crash prompted me to seek less volatile business models.

I took a chance at franchising, purchasing my first franchise license for a leading tax preparation company in 2007. In nine years, I grew from 1 to 20 locations, even earning top achievement awards.
Franchising allowed me to apply my expertise in a stable and supportive business model. It provided me with a platform to cultivate a business that aligned with my vision. I want to inspire you to consider this path as well. Are you ready to explore franchising? Take our Franchise Readiness Quiz to find out.
